I was very excited to come here on my visit to NYC as I read all the rants and raves. The man behind the counter (guessing the owner?) was extremely kind, accommodating and generous. I let him know I don't like spicy, but it was still pretty spicy to me and my lips were burning afterward. I ordered the chicken chorizo and no red sauce. It seemed pretty simple, but a good price. The place is fun inside and has an old time feel.

This place is awesome. The owners are creating their food in a little cubby in a restaurant with just a son and his father, nothing more authentic than that. Their burrito was great, tortilla was really fluffy, a lot of meat in the burrito with just the right amount of spice. There are a few chairs inside and you can grab whatever you want from the fridge for refreshments Will definitely come back here again if I ever want a burrito

Definitely hole in the wall with an attention hungry cat. Very small deli market with a variety Mexican cuisine. I ordered a pollo taco and torta. Decent food, with limited dine in tables. I wouldn't say spectacular but definitely see why a neighborhood favorite. The clerks were friendly. The pollo torta had slow cooked beans, mayonnaise, tomatoes and lettuce. Classic torta besides the beans, new to me but I liked it. The taco was just the marinated chicken and lettuce. Could use more flavor but light. I still recommend this deli if you're in the East village.

Great fast food if you are craving quick Mexican food. Very fairly priced as well. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I am vegetarian and they were ready to modify any item on the menu without hesitation. Looked like a family owned business with the whole family doing their part. The food was being made fresh there. The staff made the guacamole for the burrito fresh according to order. Very limited seats inside, good place to get to go. Part grocery store. Normally I would never think to eat here but a friend suggested it and I would definitely recommend it as well. Not many casual Mexican joints in NY so glad I found this place.

People always ask me why they should support local businesses and this is why! Zaragoza is a family owned business that survived. The food is amazing and this is what makes NY unique. I hate to go on a rant but the city needs to protect local businesses that have served communities pre-gentrification. ( Yes I said what I said!) These businesses provide residents with authentic meals that are made with care and love! It's unfortunate that most of them close when they are staples in the community. What I love of about this bodega is that they offer authentic Mexican beverages and snacks as well as a flexible menu! The menu literally changes daily and you can mix and match dishes. On my first visit I ordered meatballs and pernil. Today I ordered goat and beef tongue! When I was a kid I ate what my my prepared, so the menu here definitely reminds me of that. If you live in this area or you are visiting please show this business some love!!! Support the legacy!
